10th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival – 2018

Join the Michigan Brewers Guild at Eastern Market in October for one of the largest all-Michigan beer tastings around. Attendees can enjoy some incredible food from Detroit area restaurants (available for purchase) and listen to a talented line-up of local musicians while sipping any of more than 800+ craft beers and nearly 120 Michigan breweries.

The Motor City has a long-standing brewing history and in recent years it has been revitalized thanks to a growing interest in the craft beer movement. Established in 1891, the current Eastern Market is one of the nation’s oldest farm markets and the area is rife with brewing history. In its heyday, there were more than 40 breweries in the Detroit area and malt silos still stand as a testament to the rich brewing history – making it the perfect backdrop for the Detroit Fall Beer Festival. This Week In Art

A native of Detroiter, Alphonso Cox has been creating art since childhood. A self-taught artist, who has been sketching and drawing since he could pick up a pencil. These days, his life experiences are what drive and inspire him to create. He fell back into the art world after his older brother committed suicide at the young age of 25. To deal with the stress from his brother’s untimely death, he began drawing and painting with great passion and vigor. A desire for perfection urges him to work hard and be a productive artist. His first solo show was a celebration of life and music with a display of unique portraits of his favorite musicans and activist.

The style he has developed is like no other – a true scientist of colors, materials, and process – exploring many techniques and mediums including ink, oil, wax, acrylic, and charcoal. His work has been exhibited at many venues and galleries in Detroit and he’s recently branched out to the Chicago area. Alphonso has made a vow to go wherever the art world may take him and therefore share his talents with whomever he has the pleasure to meet.
Alphonso is currently living in Indian Village, Detroit and is working as a freelance Artist and Carpenter. Recently, one of his works is currently at Kresge Foundation Headquarters located in Troy(Art In The Office). He recently curated his first show at 474 Peterboro Detroit Shipping Company alone side with being the first artist to install in their galleries. He also had Summer Opening Art Installation at Two James Bar;which just ended on Sept.21. The Show was well received by as many of his pieces sold.He has also been branching out of the Metropolican area. to Novi. “One of a Find” is a Rustic Contemporary Furniture Boutique that has a unique styled furniture and art.Check for updates of show dates at:
