What’s in the Box?

Posted by The Management on April 24, 2013

Lots of forward movement here at the Brewery as we are expanding our capacity and adding new distribution territories. To all you folks from other states that are craving a taste of home and a delicious Ghettoblaster, this dream is in the process of becoming a reality. Recently we joined up with the fine folks at Paw Paw Wine Distributors to cover the Kalamazoo area, so if you are a bar, party store or restaurant in or around Kalamazoo, you will be able to add Motor City Beer and Hard Cider to your taps, and or shelves.

We are also beginning phase II of the most recent construction project to add tank capacity. More tanks mean more beer can be ferment, to serve markets outside of the fine city of Detroit.

Here is a lovely photograph by Brewery kingpin and photographer Konrad Maziarz, of the lovely new control box being installed.
"What's in the Box?"

All this box talk had us waxing nostalgic about Brad Pitt's somewhat unhinged scene from Se7en.  It had us all wondering what was indeed, in the box. For more good times check out this link.

MMMMMmmmm. Stout. Imperial that is. What’s on Tap?

With our tanks full of IPA, Ghettoblaster and Hard Cider, we took to our pilot NANA system and brewed up a special batch of Russian Imperial Stout.  Nothing welcomes spring quite like an ABV just over 9%, to shake of the sadness of what has been a tedious winter. Our Russian Imperial Stout, which we have called "Drago" for short, must indeed break you. It is dark, rich and smooth with a subtle sweetness. As if you needed another reason besides the ABV? It is a tad different than a traditional Irish Stout, and our old standby Corktown Stout. Heavier, and higher in alcohol content, not as 'dry' as an Irish.

Magically we also have a Doppelbock on draft from that very same system. Caramel in color and flavor. It is delicious. And available in Growlers.

Both of these beers are only in the Tap Room, so stop in and fill up for your holiday weekend!

McCutcheon Exposed.

Posted by The Management on February 2, 2013

If you are a follower of our Facebook, or Twitter pages, quite often, or perhaps, each Saturday you see a missive chiding you to come into the brewery and see/sample/enjoy, "The McCutcheon".

Some bring in their growlers for a wee taste of this mysterious product, others sit down at the bar expecting to be wowed by this "McCutcheon". Wowed, they will be. The McCutcheon, part secret flavor, part primary ingredient, part deviant, is 100% malcontent. Sir Charles McCutcheon, The Malcontent is our Saturday bartender.

Stop in some Saturday, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed by MCBW's most versatile employee.
